The Noon Balloon (Art Songs for Children)

This innovative collection of 12 art songs features the poems of Margaret Wise Brown, set to the music of Dorothy Cadzow with recordings and classroom suggestions by recording artist, Sandra Summer. The twelve songs in this collection illustrate the art of weaving words and music together in a way that children can understand and enjoy. The collection includes an introduction to each song, accompanied song, a sample lesson plan, cross-curricular extension activities for creative writing, art and literature, and a student reproducible vocal page. The CD recording features a spoken version of each poem, a solo performance by Sandra Summer and performance by a children's ensemble, followed by accompaniment only.
